Baseball's Starting and Rugby is Rolling Along

Baseball season is about to begin and rosters are being formed. Sign-ups are over but if your son or daughter still want to play, there may be a spot available. Try-outs for the select baseball teams are this weekend at Pioneer Park. The schedule for each age group is as follows:

Saturday-

10:00-12:00 12 Year Olds
12:00-2:00 9/10 Year Olds

Sunday-

1:00-3:00 11 Year Olds

For those kids who will be attending the Math Olympiad on Saturday, we have an option if you still want to try-out. If you can be to Pioneer Park before 2:00, we will have your child go throught the same try-out and hopefully be able to do so in around a half an hour. If you can't make it to the field by 2:00, call us on Monday and we will see if the coach is going to hold a second tryout.

We are hoping the season will start the first of second week of April but it depends on the weather and when the fields are ready. Speaking of the fields, there have been a lot of changes this year to the fields down at Pioneer Park. Thanks to the City, Pioneer 5 was added this last summer and is in the far corner of the park. This field will be used by kids ages 9-12 as well as our local Pony League team. The City has also been great this year in improvements to Pioneer Fields 1-4. John Locker, Jim Slaughter, Bo Westford and the rest of the City's Public Works Department along with the Mayor were kind enough to add more dirt to all of the fields as well as putting in permanent bases and improving the backstops on fields 1-3. The fields will look better than they have in years and this is all thanks to the City.

Some of you may have heard that we added a new sport to our Club and that is Rugby. We started the program with the idea of maybe having two teams total but now find ourselves with five. Don't think that it isn't to late to sign up. The cost is only $5 with your membership and there are still four weeks left. There are teams for kids grades 3-6 and games usually take place on Sunday at the Chuckanut Bay Rugby Fields on Grandview. If you think your child might be interested in this new sport call Keegan at the Club. Here are a couple of pictures from last weekends match.
